Material Overview

PVA represents water-dissolvable support material technology. Provides dependable structural support for complex geometries and overhanging features, easily removed through water dissolution post-printing. Multi-filament compatibility simplifies post-processing workflow and minimizes damage risk during support structure removal.

Water Dissolution for Complex Geometry Support

PVA's water-soluble properties enable penetration into intricate geometric details, providing structural support where conventional support structures prove inadequate. PVA technology enables design and fabrication of previously unachievable model geometries.

Continuous Interface Surface Quality

Water-soluble support technology accommodates zero top interface spacing, ensuring seamless bonding with print surfaces, generating precise and smooth support contact areas for fabricated objects.

Complete and Efficient Dissolution

PVA utilizes premium formulation enabling easy and thorough water dissolution, effortlessly removing support material while eliminating manual cleaning requirements.

Processing Guidelines

  • Drying Protocol: 80°C, 12-hour duration. Thorough pre-use drying and post-storage drying mandatory for optimal processing performance. Reference: Filament drying documentation.

  • Critical Reading: Carefully review PVA Printing Guide documentation before initiating printing operations.

  • AMS Compatibility: PVA suitable for AMS and AMS lite utilization in desiccated state. If material becomes softened or adhesive due to moisture absorption, re-drying mandatory before use to prevent feed failure, nozzle blockage, and quality degradation.

  • Color Darkening: PVA may exhibit color darkening after prolonged storage or multiple drying cycles, without affecting processing performance or support capabilities.

  • Support Structure Type: Standard support structures recommended over tree support configurations. Tree support demonstrates higher collapse probability during printing operations.

  • Dissolution Acceleration: Warm water application accelerates dissolution process. However, when supporting PLA materials, maximum water temperature must not exceed 50°C to prevent primary model deformation.

  • Partial Dissolution Removal: Complete dissolution waiting period unnecessary during PVA support soaking. Manually remove partially dissolved PVA support structures to reduce processing time.

  • Water Leakage Mitigation: During support dissolution in water, certain primary model sections may exhibit water leakage. Reference: Print leakage risk reduction guide documentation.

  • Interface-Only Application: Depending on application requirements, PVA can be utilized exclusively for support interface printing to minimize material consumption and processing duration.
